Inspection Report: Ofsted

Addington High School is an 11-16 mixed community school with 840 pupils.

School Aims
To improve life chances by raising standards through a relentless focus on improving the quality of teaching and learning.

We want all pupils to both enjoy and achieve through their school experience whilst developing the skills, understanding and personal qualities and confidence that support success in adult life and lifelong learning.

As a medium-sized school, we can offer very good specialist facilities but most importantly provide excellent support and opportunities for each individual.

Staff, particularly Tutors, get to know students well and emphasise their strengths, achievements and capacity to succeed. We give pupils as much responsibility as possible.

We aim to show that each individual is special and in all aspects of work we emphasise a positive, friendly but purposeful approach. Much is achieved through daily welcomes, smiles, humour, ‘thank you’ – full enactment of our Code of Conduct.

How To Apply
Transfer from Year 6 to Year 7 (KS2 to KS3) and admissions to Addington High School are organised in accordance with the Local Authority’s Policy and Procedures.

Application forms are available, on request, from Addington High or the Primary School attended. The completed form is to be returned to Admissions, Croydon Council, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon CR9 1TP – either directly or through the school.

It is the Schools policy to interview all applicants prior to admission. Parents/carers are asked to sign a Home/School Partnership Agreement with the School. Anyone considering application to the School is welcome to visit - please contact the School for an appointment. The School works closely with Primary schools in the Spring and Summer terms to support Year 6-7 transfer.
